Mother Mother kommen aus Vancouver, machen „skurrilen und unangepassten Indie-Rock" (laut.de) und veröffentlichen am 06.05.2011 ihr neues Album „Eureka", welches wie bereits der Vorgänger „Oh My Heart" beim kanadischen Hype-Label Last Gang Records (u.a. Metric, Death from Above 1979, MSTRKRFT, Crystal Castles) erscheint.

Die Band, bestehend aus den Geschwistern Ryan (Gesang und Gitarre) und Molly Guldemond (Gesang und Synthesizer) sowie ihren Freunden Jasmin Parkin (Gesang und Keyboard), Jeremie Page (Bass) und Ali Siadat (Schlagzeug), tourt seit ihrer Gründung im Jahr 2005  damals noch als Folk-Trio - durch die Lande, und teilte sich in der Vergangenheit mit Bands wie Weezer, Pearl Jam, Tokyo Police Club, The Decemberists oder Spoon die Bühne.

Ryan, Haupt-Songwriter und Frontmann bei Mother Mother, beschreibt das neue Album als "a vivid depiction of where the band's at right now, which is the height of our musicianship, song writing and strength as collaborators". Und seine Schwester Molly ergänzt: "Our new songs are bolder and more animated, so I chose to use vibrant neons and brighter colours than ever before," the multi-talented artist/musician reports. "The word 'eureka' suggests epiphany and exciting discovery. The lion represents the animal instinct in us to pursue these breakthroughs; a predatory sense to hunt for deeper truth".

Auch als Produzent fungierte Mastermind Ryan Guldemond bei „Eureka", nur zum Mischen holte sich die Band externe Hilfe und zwar von Mike Fraser, der auch schon für AC/DC, Franz Ferdinand und Elvis Costello an den Reglern saß.
