Biografie: 1. Rapture ist eine finnische Doom-Metal-Band, die 1997 gegründet wurde. Die Lieder der Band weisen eine bedrückende, fast depressive Stimmung auf. Als Vergleich für ihren Musikstil wird oft Katatonia herangezogen.
1999 veröffentlichte die Band das Album Futile durch Spikefarm Records in Europa und durch Relapse Records in den USA. Im Jahr 2002 folgt Songs for the Withering und 2005 Silent Stage.
